Build a Loft
Converting your loft can seem like an overwhelming project, but when you are working with experienced professionals it can be surprisingly easy. So why wait? The following is designed to give you some easy to follow information to help you start planning your loft conversion.
As part of the conversion process we install everything including fully insulated floors and ceilings, plasterboards, skirting, architraves, doors, lighting, power points, switches, windows, stairs, ladders, plaster and stud walls, so that the loft is ready for painting and your personal decoration. Stairs can be made from MDF, pine or Tasmanian oak, jarrah and can also be carpeted for additional noise reduction. We ensure that all flooring and timbers are termite treated so that you don't have to worry about any unwanted guests.
On most loft conversions you can typically expect our company to complete a project from start to finish in 10-20 working days depending on the scope of the project. Generally, we start work at 7.30am and finish at around 3.30pm so there is minimal intrusion into your daily routine. For the majority of the job we gain access to the loft through the roof via a scaffold so there is little need to walk through the house because we understand that you still need to live in your home.
All Cornerstone Roofing and Construction Co. tradesmen are experienced and have police clearance. As part of our service we offer in-house, qualified tradesmen – electricians, plasterers, bricklayers and carpenters. We ensure that all electrical work is done by certified electricians.
In most cases it's hard to draw exact plans for the design of a loft conversion even though we are there to build what you want we need to work around the existing internal structure of your roof. The advantage of working directly with our skilled professionals is that you can discuss ways to overcome potential problems and get exactly what you want from your conversion.
The beauty of working directly with our company is that large pieces of furniture that wouldn't normally fit up the stairs leading to a loft can be placed before the loft is completed. Also, ducted air-conditioning can be adjusted and rerouted to go behind stud walls or even under the floor to increase floor space. With all of our loft conversions we build an elevated floor above your ceiling which adds strength and reduces sound.

"15sqm Loft storage room. A difficult build due to the structure of the roof. Rick and his team inspected the site a number of times prior to providing a price to ensure it could be done. We were briefed on what would be done and the approximate timing of the project. The team were very focused on the project and completed the work quickly, while being mindful and courteous of our family. Issue that arose were dealt with quickly. The room is light an airy, with windows, down lights & power, and following completion, we were supplied with all warranties and structural plans for the project.
